Thanksgiving and Prayer Requests 28 Oct 2008

It’s wonderful to know that we serve a True and Living God! It’s so encouraging that many of our prayer requests from last week were answered. We want to give thanks and all glory to God for the following:

  1. Salvation of 2 Oldham hall girls, Sylvia and Lydia repented of their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal saviour. Amen!

  2. Marc's check-up results were good and what he is going through is normal!

  3. Wan Wan's mother health check results were positive!

  4. God has already started working in Ken's heart when Wan Wan's Purpose Driven Life book was found on his bedside table and he said nothing!

  5. Ryan is healed of this leg and back!

  6. Gayle's results to the food allergy came back all negative!

Let’s continue to uphold each other in prayers;

In General

Our children

  • God's protection over them. May they be healthy and be strong.
  • Purity; - the Lord will keep them away for all the un-pure influences. They will be able to discern from right and wrong. They will know God's values and the wisdom and reject the world's values.
  • They will walk in the Lord and grow in His statue. May they grow up to love Jesus and to be Man and Woman of God and be accountable for God's Kingdom.

Our Husbands

  • They are to lead the family and God has put them as the head of the family whether they are Christians or not.
  • They will love their spouses as God loves His church
  • God's protection over them
  • God will give them His favour and that they will be filled with His wisdom so that whatever decision they make, it will be God's decision
Ourselves

  • We will be a submissive wife, a loving mother and an obedient child to parents and in-laws
  • Bringing up our children in God's wisdom and our influences to them are of godly values
  • The desire to know Jesus even more and to be rooted in His words
  • Boldness to share His love with others
  • To be sensitive to His leading and not lean on to our own understanding
Our Neighbours

  • To love them as ourselves
  • To excercise and extend God's unconditional Love to them
  • Boldness to be the 1st one to initiate a conversation or a helping hand or even just a listening ear.
Economic climate

  • Pray for journey mercy to Perth and a fruitful trip. Pray that God will grant us favours with everyone we are meeting in the trip.
  • Spiritual growth for the oldham hall girls who have just received Jesus as their personal savior and for Janet’s salvation which is very ripe. God will continue to work in Vickie’s heart and that she will hear God in a very special way.
  • Watch over my staff and the whole office while we are away. May those co-workers who have lost their way find God again and for those who have not known Jesus will come to know Him soon.

May I leave this passage with you? Remember when things get rough and we don’t know what and why things happened the way they did, be still and hide behind our Lord Jesus for He is our hiding place.

Psalm 32:6
6 Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.
7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
9 Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
10 Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.
11 Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!

Shalom!

  • Gayle;s food allergy. Pray that the results to allergy to all the foods tested are negative so that she can enjoy all sorts and that this outbreak is just a 1 time off experience. Protection over her as we do not know what causes the allergy and that it will not occur again.

Just before I end, may I leave this passage from Malachi 3:8-12 with you.

This verse talks about God throwing open his floodgates of heaven and pouring out his blessing to us. Floodgates! That must be so much blessings and I can't even imagine or gasp the volume involved in containing these blessings when he releases the floodgates. He also asked us to TEST Him on this, but first, we have to be faithful in our giving even in this economy climate. I guess giving, not only in terms of our money but also in our time and availability. May the Holy Spirit reveal His words to you and may you be blessed by these verses!!

"Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings.

9 You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty. 12 "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the LORD Almighty.

Malachi 3:8-12

One last thing, may this song be our prayer and our cry to the Lord.

To know Him, to know Him
Is the cry of my heart
Spirit reveal Him to me
To hear what you’re saying
brings life to my bones
To know Him, to know Him alone.

Have a blessed week ahead!

God Bless you!
